Every person carries proto-oncogenes capable of developing into cancer. Normally our body's natural defense systems keep cancer cells from developing and spreading. Cancer invasion and metastasis (spreading) is the main cause of traditional treatment failure. The conditions that allow cancer to develop in one area are usually prevalent in other areas of the body and these other areas are also ripe for invasion and that is really what kills most patients.

In our so-called civilized society, the increased incidence of the degenerative diseases (cancer, cardiovascular disease, diabetes, multiple sclerosis, and liver and kidney problems) has PARALLELED the consumption of unnatural chemically altered fats. That may be a bold statement, but it is easily documented. A whopping 57 percent of our dietary fat consumption now comes from commercially processed fats and oils, such as margarine, shortening, salad and cooking oils. As we entered the 1900s cancer was claiming the life of 1 person in 30. A hundred years later it is killing 1 in 5. One hundred years ago, heart disease was killing 1 in every 7. The deadly toll is now 1 in every 2. Shocking isn't it? The body simply can't process these chemically altered fats.

Can you handle more bad news? As of 1983, the FDA had approved the use of more than 3,000 food additives. Another 1,000 were approved as GRAS (generally regarded as safe) within specified levels. Today, it is estimated that as many as 7,000 chemicals appear in our foods.

The food industry spends over $20,000,000,000 every year on the chemical additives included in our food and that was billion not million. An educated guess is that each of us consumes over 5 pounds of chemical preservatives, stabilizers, dyes, artificial flavorings, and other additives every year without really thinking much about it. What is it?

It is an Oriental fermented tea remedy that can be traced back to 400 B.C. where it originated in what is known today as Korea. It is perfectly safe and is used today by 500 million people around the world. Emperors, Czars and even an American President have used the tea. The President in the 1980/s was being treated for Cancer and was having metastases (spreading of cancer cells). A culture was brought in from Japan and incorporated into his treatment. He survived and lived into his nineties.

It wasn't until 1993 that Kombucha was introduced to the American public. Today, over 3,000,000 Americans drink Kombucha on a regular basis.

The oriental approach is to prevent illness, whereby, western commercial medicine is to treat symptoms.

We are all familiar with how the body tries to reject implanted organs since it recognizes the transplant as a foreign invader. My theory is that the body reacts in a similar manner when prescribed medical chemicals are ingested. It seems logical to me that the body would think prescription drugs are invaders and attack them and that is why there are so many adverse reactions to many prescription drugs. We all know of people that because of 2 or 3 ailments are on 10 to 20 prescriptions because of the side effects. What do you think?

One might think of Kombucha as a microbiological digestive aid. The chemo kills enormous numbers of cells and leaves their remains scattered throughout your body. The tea is the biological equivalent of STP gas treatment, carburetor cleaner and radiator flush all rolled into one. It works at the cellular and molecular pulling toxins and waste materials out. Glucuronic acid (GA) then binds the material in the liver which are then eliminated via your urine. Material bound by GA cannot be reabsorbed by the intestines or the urinary system. This detoxification and flushing promotes a healthier bladder, liver and pancreas.

The usnic acid produced has antibiotic properties and may also prevent tumors from growing.

Properly fermented tea is also the same pH as the stomach fluids are supposed to be. It therefore helps balance stomach juices so they are not too acidic or too alkaline. This should relieve digestive conditions such as heartburn, nausea, indigestion etc.

Dr. Valentin Kohler in 1961 in a magazine wrote an article "Glucuronic acid gives cancer patients hope. His cancer patients had encouraging results with glucuronic acid increasing their physical resistance to cancer and possibly boosting interferon production. Glucuronic acid is one of the products formed during the Kombucha fermentation process.

Medical therapy involving antibiotics and radiation damage or in extreme cases, kill the friendly intestinal bacteria of the colon. Several important acids are in properly fermented Kombucha which coupled with balanced pH create a hostile environment for pathogens. A chemo patient has a weakened immune system and if pathogens can't thrive and multiply there is less chance of infections.

Kombucha is a living tea containing friendly bacteria and beneficial yeasts (not to be confused with the Candida variety). It is very beneficial in nourishing intestinal flora that might have been damaged by chemo drugs and radiation. A healthy intestinal tract is necessary for healing to begin. The tea also contains lactic acid and acetic acid which deter the growth of harmful bacteria.

Since the tea aids healthy digestion, the nutrients in food and drink are more readily available for the rest of the body to utilize in performing the body's normal functions, hence more energy.

The fermentation process produces a variety of substances from acetylcholine, which benefits the body's nervous system to choline which normalizes blood pressure and prevents hypertension.

All dietary fats are not your enemy. Today we are eating much less of the right kinds of fat (essential fatty acids). Today we are eating much less of the right kinds of fat and more of the wrong fats and oils.

As weird as it sounds, I am probably the only person in Louisiana that doesn't eat fish and seafood (it's a mental thing). I therefore have stayed away from omega 3 fatty acids extracted from fish oils. The good news is quality flaxseed oil contains more omega 3 fatty acids than the fish products. At lunch I take a quarter cup of low fat cottage cheese, chop up some tomato or shred some lettuce or sometimes slice banana and mix with 2 tablespoons of flaxseed oil and I have a nutritious salad with my lunch. The cottage cheese and oil act as a catalyst for each other and are far more effective when taken together than if eaten separately. The oil requires a sulfurated protein (cottage cheese, skim milk or yogurt etc) for it to be utilized by the body. It actually becomes water soluble. In this form it is ready to attack and emulsify fats and oils for easier digestion. They can then be eliminated from the body via the usual digestive process.

Dr. Johanna Budwig was born in 1904 and numbers 7 Nobel nominations among her many achievements and honors. She is still a much sought after speaker in Europe. I was most impressed with the results she has achieved with her flaxseed oil and low fat cottage cheese regimen. This lady actually sought out terminal cancer patients and treated them at her clinic achieving remarkable results in 3 months or less and in many instances complete cures.
