KOMBUCHA DROPS
(Extract)

The first documented reference to Kombucha fermented tea appeared in 414 BC. Since then millions of people, all over the world, have benefited from its use. Many others, however, have shied away from drinking Kombucha such as diabetics due to the perceived "sugar issue". Cancer patients and others with debilitating diseases whose systems are being overwhelmed with traditional medications have trouble with the acidic taste of Kombucha. Still others, find it difficult to take their Kombucha with them on vacation, business trips or even to work. Some simply prefer a convenient alternative to caring for Kombucha cultures.

The first reference to Kombucha drops, elixir, extract and tincture appears in 1928. Wiechowski and Hermann contracted with a pharmaceutical company to produce Kombucha in a concentrated form. Their method involved vacuum distillation. It is generally accepted that Kombucha drops are 60 to 80% as effective as the actual Kombucha fermented tea. Many people claim the drops give them more energy than the Kombucha tea. Some say drinking the water with drops too close to bedtime could keep you awake due to the increased energy level.

Today, the most common method of preparing concentrated Kombucha drops is by pressing the culture to squeeze the liquid out. Dr. Rudolph Sklenar, a general practitioner for over 30 years, is believed to have developed this method. He prepared his own drops and used them in conjunction with Kombucha tea in treating his patients.  Astonishing therapeutic results were obtained in treating cancer, gout, intestinal disturbances and a host of other metabolic disorders.

His niece and heir, Rosina Fasching, now owns the manufacturing rights to his original receipes. Her book, "TEA FUNGUS KOMBUCHA, The Natural Remedy and its Significance in Cases of Cancer and other Metabolic Diseases" is a tribute to her uncle's pioneering work. The book details many of his actual cases. and discusses the use of Kombucha and Kombucha drops as part of the treatment for many conditions.

Fresh Kombucha extract by itself does not contain any preservative properties. Shelf life, even with refrigeration, would only be several days. Cajun Ernie offers two formulations.

Our AL drops contain pure grain alcohol (ethanol) which provides maximum shelf life. The alcohol does kill off some of the friendly bacteria in the extract. It also prevents any fermentation from taking place. When the drops are added to water as directed, the taste difference is negligible. The amount of alcohol in a properly mixed 8 ounce glass of water or juice is so minute it is almost immeasurable.

Our VIN drops are preserved with vinegar. We use a balsamic vinegar from Modena, Italy. It is made from the same grapes as Lambrusco wine and is matured in wooden casks. The yeast and bacteria remain viable and some fermentation could occur. Since some gas build up could occur, you will notice we ship the drops with a screw on cap. You might want to keep the cap on if you take drops to work or on a trip etc.  Use the drops within 60 days or keep refrigerated when convenient.

The recommended dose is 20 drops per 8 ounces of water to be taken 3 times daily.

When first starting out it would be prudent to start slowly and work you way up to 3 glasses daily.

Our 2 fluid ounce bottle has an eye dropper so you can add ½ dropper or 1/3 teaspoon or count out 20 drops to an 8 ounce glass of water.

Either way, the bottle should yield 90 doses or a one month's supply if taken as directed.

At $9.75 plus shipping, our drops are a real value.

Drinking regular Kombucha in conjunction with taking the drops in water maximizes effectiveness.
